I forgot to put the picture up before

This is my precious little girl as we are trying to get ready for bed. She had a nice bath and was all lotioned up. I put on her diaper with a little baby powder and turned to get her PJs. She has learned to undo he diaper, so when I turned she grabbed that diaper and threw it over her head. All the baby powder went everywhere and she had the biggest smile on her face.

You have to love them when things like this happen. She really does make our days interesting.

She is 8 months old now. Her stats will be up tomorrow!!!

I Lost My Camera!!!

So the reason I haven't blogged is because I CAN'T FIND MY CAMERA!!!! I am so mad. We are still looking for it, but it is driving us crazy.

Well to catch up, Mackenzie is officially CRAWLING!! She is all over the place. She started last Thursday really moving, but on Saturday she was everywhere. She is into everything and loves Daddy's electronics. She also pulls herself to stand up on things such as the couch. She can walk down the couch when she is trying to get to something.

She loves her baths and now is trying to drink the water.

When Daddy takes her outside to play in the grass she tries to eat it.

I will try to get some videos of her doing some of these fun things when/if I find my camera. If not, we will have to figure something out.

PS We move to Denver in exactly 2 weeks.

Come Here Kenzie!

Mackenzie's little cousin Joseph is so cute with her. We went to Joe and Tina's house earlier this week and when we first walked in, I said something to Joe and I here little Joseph's voice come from upstairs. He yelled "Meredith's here" or something like that. It was so funny that he just heard me say hi and knew who it was. That little boy is so cute.

Well we went up to the master bedroom because Joe was painting downstairs (there house is finally on the market YAY!). While Tina and I were hanging out with the kids, Joseph wanted to play with Mackenzie. He wanted her to come to his little hideout place. She wouldn't move even though he kept telling her to "Come here Kenzie!"

Here is a cute video of him trying to get her to crawl to him.

I can HELP!

I have been in Mackenzie's room trying to put away old clothes and get new stuff out once again. Mackenzie decided she really wanted to help me. Oh she did all right. She helped me to have a lot more work. She was sitting on one side of my leg and I was trying to go through her socks because many of them are too small and just fall off her feet. The bin that I was putting the good socks in was on the other side of my leg.

Mackenzie was very interested to see if I kept all the socks she liked to wear/eat. So she went exploring. I was busy, so I didn't notice, but she picked up the bin and dumped it over her head.

She just wants to be into EVERYTHING, but it is so CUTE!

Oh I forgot one thing...Then she wanted to see if the socks still tasted the same as she remembered.

What were they thinking?

Whoever said "What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger" never had a baby who won't sleep. I have decided it should go more like "What doesn't kill you only makes you more exhausted and want to die". Any one else agree?

Mackenzie is going to bed around 7 or 8 depending on when she naps during the day. She wakes up around 12, 2, 5, and then is up around 7 or 8 depending.

I AM SO TIRED!

I am still working so I have to be up around 6 and then out the door by 7:30. I just can't wait until the summer because then I can sleep in the morning until Mackenzie wakes up.

Fun with Daddy

7 Months

I can't believe how old she is! It is really crazy how fast they grow. It was difficult to get a picture of Mackenzie with her bunny. She wouldn't stretch out for me so I had to do it myself (as you see in the picture).

Her stats:
We went to the doctor for Mackenzie's "6 month" appointment a week ago. The doc had a baby a couple months ago so it messed up our 4 month appointment. Then, I was gone to NC for what should have been the 6 month appointment, so we got exact numbers a week ago.

Weight- 15 lbs 2 oz. (yeah she gained 2 oz in a month, but the doc isn't worried so oh well).- 30%
Height- 27 inches- 90%

She is LONG AND LEAN!

At 7 months Mackenzie is talking all the time.

She is rolling over both ways and moving all over the floor.

She turns in circles to see everything around her.

She can feed herself little gerber puffs.

She reaches out for mommy and daddy when she wants us.

She gets so excited when one of us walks in the door when we haven't been around for a little while. By excited I mean she flaps her arms and giggles.

She loves food. But isn't extremely interested in nursing anymore.

She likes being tickled, sit on daddy's shoulders, and be thrown in the air.

She is now getting on her knees and rocking back and forth.

She scoots backwards and gets frustrated when she gets stuck against a wall or other object.

She is spoiled rotten by Daddy, but is ready for Mommy to stay with her all day. (only 1 more month!!!)

She has started undoing her diaper while we are trying to put her pants back on.

She is opening the wipe container and taking wipes out.

She loves to go on walks in her stroller. Daddy took her on a little trip to the river and she loved sitting by it and watching the running water. She actually cried when they left.

She rolls onto her tummy while we are trying to change her diaper.

Today I found her sitting up in her crib after her nap. She was crying so I went to get her and was so confused.

Daddy is teaching her how to clap and say YAY!!!

She loves singing the wheels on the bus, itsy bitsy spider, patty cake, etc.

She gets very mad when we leave the room when she isn't coming with us.

She still isn't sleeping very well at night, but we are doing all we can. Maybe one day it will get better!

That is all I can think of at the moment.

Feeding

Today Mackenzie learned a new trick. I was just giving her something to play with, but she decided to show that she is more developed than I thought.

Pretty impressive huh?!?

This is Mackenzie's First Blog

I let Mackenzie play on the computer because she was very interested. This is what she had to say!

And here she is...

My New Haircut

When I was home in NC, I got my hair cut. I was sick of my hair so it went from looking like...

to looking like...

So this must be a Rankin wife thing. My 2 sister-in-laws have both had babies (one is 9 months and the other is 3 months). I guess all of us had the same idea after we had babies. The only thing I don't love is that some days that I feel like being lazy I can't. I have to do my hair everyday.

Catch up

First, I need to go back almost a month! Yeah, it has been forever. Well at 6 months this is what Mackenzie looked like. She is soooo big. I actually forgot to measure how long she was, but I did weigh her at the doctor and she was 15 pounds exactly.

At 6 months old, she is a VERY happy little girl.
She has been sitting up on her own for almost a month.
She like to talk and is saying things like mamama all the time.
She squeals and smiles tons.
She still hasn't rolled from her back to her front.
She also started eating food (as you saw in the video) and she LOVES it.

The next big thing that has happened is that I went home to North Carolina for my Spring Break. I had a break from school and Adam had a TON to catch up on and to finish since his semester was at the very end.

So Mackenzie and I went home to NC and has a wonderful time. She loved hanging out with Papa (my grandfather). He is so good with kids. Mackenzie laughed at him basically the whole time he was around. In this picture Uncle Booba (Cameron) let Mackenzie try on his beany. She thought it was funny.

Mackenzie also LOVED watching Papa.

Mackenzie is having a little bit of a hard time going to the bathroom now that she has started solids, so she has been getting a bottle of apple juice/water everyday. She wants to do it all by herself and a lot of the time wants to use her feet to hold the bottle.

While we were at home, my mom and I had fun painting Mackenzie's toe nails. She is such a wiggly worm. It took both of us to get the nails painted. I entertained and held her while Mom painted. None of the pictures really turned out, but this is the best one for now.

She loves her high chair. I love it when Mackenzie finishes eating and just hangs out and throws her feet up.
Isn't she precious!
Mackenzie wanted Daddy's apple when he was done, so she played with it for about 20 minutes.

Our first REAL food!

Last night was such an eventful evening. We had our FIRST real food! We have been feeding Mackenzie rice cereal once a day since she was about 4 months old. Well yesterday she officially turned 6 months old. I can't believe she is half a year old. Time is just flying by SOOOO fast! We went to the doctors office to weigh Mackenzie because he actual appointment isn't for another 3 weeks. So while we were there I asked some questions and also asked about starting real solids. They gave me the go ahead so here we go!

Here she is with her first REAL food.
