NC Mountains

For our Reese family I guess you could call it reunion...we went to the NC Mountains!

We had a great trip. Some of our activities were mining, river rafting, tubing, movies, lots of games and sitting around time just relaxing, and walking around West Jefferson looking at all the great stores and the Christmas in July festival!

Here are some pictures...and as soon as I can I will get more pics and videos up on the blog!

This is Mackenzie at the Christmas in July Festival...don't know what she is doing.

This was the only real "Christmas" thing at the Christmas in July Festival. I don't know how this man didn't pass out. It was soooo hot out there.

We were Mining....and Mackenzie loved the water!

We were all getting ready to go tubing down the river by our cabin. We all had a wonderful time! Mackenzie had fun splashing in the water.

We went to an old general store...sorry Dad, I don't remember the name... But it was fun to walk around this super old building and see all the fun stuff.

Here is Adam and Kenzie outside the general store.

Poppy and Kenzie outside Sallie Mae's.

We really had a great time just hanging out with the family and having a relaxing trip.

Riding on Daddy

He makes a good horsey!

Yard Sale Finds!!

So a few months ago we went to a great neighborhood yard sale andn BOY did we have FUN!!!!

We had some great finds!

2 Kenzie size chairs- $1
Coffee Table- $15
All 5 candles and the 3 stands- $5
Mackenzie's rocking police car-$5
Kitchen table- $5

What do you think? Good Deals?
We also got some baby/toddler clothes that were basically free!!! I love yard sales!

We love popcicles!!

This is what Mackenzie looks like after she enjoys a popcicle without Mommy's help!

Yes, we are getting in the bathtub because she got sticky juice EVERYWHERE!

A Little Boo Boo

We had a little boo boo on Monday!

Mackenzie and Daddy were out working on the sprinklers and Mackenzie was having a great time running through the water. Well one time she was running on the sidewalk and had a spill. So this is what happened! How sad!

The one thing she was happy about is that she got to put "stickers" on knees. She thought the bandaids were really fun for about 5 mins and then she wanted them off.

New Front Door

So I just love Craigslist!!!!

About a month ago we were looking at free stuff on Craigslist and came across a door that someone was just giving away. It was a solid front door that the lady had tried to paint a hideous shade of dookie brown!

Well, we took it and I painted it black. Well look now! Our door is so much better now when you enter our house!!!!

This was our front door...
And this is our new front door...
How much better is that!!!

Swimming with Ethan

We went to our friend Ethan's house and decided to go swimming in his little pool..
Oh what fun!

A Day at the Park

So Jessica, one of my great friends out here, invited me and Mackenzie to go to a museum (that is just an outside town that is set back in the 1800s or something). So we got there and found out it wasn't open. So insead we went to the lake that was beside the park and walked around the lake looking for wildlife. Jessica's two little girls love Mackenzie and we had a great time, but here are a few pictures...

Broken Arm

Well, I did something VERY VERY stupid. On Sunday morning I hadjust put Mackenzie down for a nap and was walking to the kitchen. I stepped on a toy (and the only toy that was left out in the living room) and the toy went flying out from under my foot. I fell to the floor really hard...yeah I don't even remember how I landed cause it happened so fast. Well my arm was hurting really bad after the fall, but I was going to just tough it out cause I figured it was just bruised really badly. Well, I was finally convinced to go to the ER cause it was getting worse. Well, yeah, I fractured the radial head in my right arm. (That is the bone that is on your thumb side that connects your hand to your elbow...and the head is the part that joins with the elbow. So anyways this is what I looked like after I left the hospital...

Tell me how you take care of a 2 year old with your dominant hand looking like this....

Well, I went to the Orthopedic Surgeon yesterday and the splint is now gone. So now my arm can breathe and can moe a little. He didn't want to put a real cast on me. But now I have an ac wrap and a sling. The doc wants me to be very careful with my arm, but just try to get movement back in my arm. It is painful and I can't grasp anything or use my arm to push or pull anything, but I guess it will heal. So that is where I am now.

Yay for stupidity!
