What were they thinking?

Whoever said "What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger" never had a baby who won't sleep. I have decided it should go more like "What doesn't kill you only makes you more exhausted and want to die". Any one else agree?

Mackenzie is going to bed around 7 or 8 depending on when she naps during the day. She wakes up around 12, 2, 5, and then is up around 7 or 8 depending.

I AM SO TIRED!

I am still working so I have to be up around 6 and then out the door by 7:30. I just can't wait until the summer because then I can sleep in the morning until Mackenzie wakes up.

I feel your pain! None of you four slept through the night until you were 2 1/2 years old or later. Maybe Mackenzie will start sleeping soon. I hope so for your sanity. Hang in there - somehow you live through it, but there are times when you wonder.

Love you,
MOM

I thought I had it bad. Benjamin only wakes up one time during the night now, and I still think that is almost unbearable.

Next month I am going to let him cry it out. We are waiting till we come back from vacation. I'm not looking forward to letting him do that. We did it once before and he ended up sleeping through the night on the 3rd night but then he got a cold on the 4th. I never bothered trying it again. I'll let you know how it goes this time around.

Good luck. You may try reading the book "On becoming Baby Wise" It's a great one. It works for most people. I just couldn't get it to work for Ben.

Good luck!!!

Thanks for the advice. The only thing is I just don't have the heart to let her cry. Also, at night she is actually hungry everytime she wakes up. She nurses the best at night. She is on the small side so I am not not going to feed her. I will just deal with it. I am just TIRED!

Nathan is having trouble sleeping too. He hasn't slept well since we got back in January. He was a good sleeper way back when, but then after our Christmas vacation, teething, and me going back to work, he has been waking up several times a night. It's no fun. I keep hoping he'll sleep better. And sometimes, I THINK he is sleeping better and then the moment I think that, he is back to waking at midnight, 3, and 6. I must admit, I'm amazed how "doable" it all is - I think before I had Nathan I would have FREAKED OUT if I knew how much sleep I would lose out on!

Hang in there. I hope it gets better soon...definitely before 2 1/2 years! :(

Can you get her to bed a little later? I know that if I get Samuel to bed at around 9 or 10, he usually sleeps till 3 or 5. If he wakes up at 3, he is up every 2 hours after that. It sounds like she gets 5 hours of sleep in a row, it is just early, so you can't take advantage of it. Gotta love being a mom. :)
